Led a full-day developer workshop for the ALX community at the University of Ghana, introducing Ethereum and Solidity developers to building smart contracts within the Polkadot ecosystem. The session focused on how familiar Solidity development skills and tooling can transfer into Polkadot smart contract development, giving developers a practical path into a new blockchain ecosystem.

The workshop started from the participants' existing experience with Solidity, Ethereum, frontend development, and smart contract tooling rather than treating blockchain development as a new subject. I used those familiar concepts as a bridge into Polkadot, explaining which development patterns carry across, where the ecosystem differs, and which new tools and concepts developers need to understand. The broader objective was to make Polkadot a practical next step for developers already capable of building decentralized applications, while showing the opportunities available beyond the Ethereum ecosystem.

The session reinforced the value of meeting developers where they are technically. Ethereum and Solidity developers already understand many of the fundamentals behind smart contracts, wallets, transactions, and decentralized applications. The challenge is understanding which abstractions remain familiar, which assumptions change, and how the new ecosystem's tooling fits together. Using Solidity as the starting point made Polkadot easier to approach while still creating space to explain the differences developers needed to understand before building effectively.
